Idea for displaying your family tree.
Over the last 20 years, I've collected information on my Gilmore ancestors. The main way that I 've stored the info has been in book form, on my computer. In 2006, I published my book, and sold copies to some relatives.
As word spread among family members, I received requests for more copies. But, since I'm not a book publisher, it was a pain in the butt to print more copies, and take them to Kinko's to be bound, and then for me to package them up and mail them. So, I declined those requests.
Back then, it cost me about $80 per book to print, bind, and mail them. So, that's what I charged per book. I didn't make any money from my book, and I didn't want to make money. The price of the book only covered my costs for paper, colored ink, binding, and mailing. I didn't charge for my time.
The book that I will be publishing here on my blog is my updated copy, which resides in my computer. Please don't ask to buy a copy of my book. Also, please don't ask me to email a copy of it to you. You will be able to print each chapter as I post them, and make a book for yourself.
A word about copyright. My book is copyrighted. You may print copies for yourself, and for your family. But, you may not sell my book, or sell anything that you find in it. Please respect my many years of work and do not take my work and sell it. The FBI frowns upon stealing copyrighted material! LOL!
